This course provides a structured and practical study of negligence as a central principle in the Law of Tort. It focuses on both general negligence and the recognised specific forms of negligence.
Students will examine the elements of negligence, including duty of care, breach, causation, and damage, before exploring five specific categories of negligence. Emphasis will be placed on the governing principles, leading authorities, and application of legal rules to factual scenarios.
Through guided analysis and problem solving exercises, students will learn to identify liability, apply legal standards, and construct well reasoned responses. The course is designed to strengthen analytical skills, deepen conceptual understanding, and improve examination performance.
