This course provides a structured examination of legal interests and rights in land, focusing on ownership, possession, and the regulation of land use.
The programme will cover compulsory acquisition of land, adverse possession, the legal relationship between landlord and tenant, common law interests in land, and principles governing ownership.
Students will develop an understanding of how proprietary interests are created, transferred, and protected, as well as the legal consequences arising from possession and state acquisition. Emphasis is placed on applying legal principles to practical scenarios and analysing rights and obligations affecting landholders and occupiers.
